Linguatec announces a new version of its speech recognition programme Voice Pro

Munich-based language expert Linguatec is planning to introduce the completely new version of its speech recognition programme Voice Pro in autumn 2008. The earlier version was rated Number 1 in a comparison of speech recognition programmes by Germany's leading consumer safety group Stiftung Warentest.

There is immense interest in speech recognition. This comes as no surprise – it is impossible to imagine our professional and private lives without the ability to write text, and who wouldn’t love to be able to write “as if by magic”. Dictating rather than typing reduces the workload and effort for users. Surfing and computer control are also possible by simple voice input.

The amazing thing about speech recognition is the speed in which the dictated text is registered. Not everyone is capable of typing as quickly as they speak. What’s more, dictating means that there are no more typos! In conjunction with a recognition accuracy of up to 99%, this greatly increases the efficiency of every writing task.

After two years of intensive development work, everything is ready to go: the new version of speech recognition software Voice Pro is coming to the market this autumn. In close cooperation with leading universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the foundation has been laid for a new generation of speech recognition. The new version of Voice Pro places special emphasis on the use of Windows Vista, a clearly improved recognition accuracy and intuitive handling.
